New to Juicing: Here are 4 Juicing Tips to Help You Get Started

If you aren’t yet juicing, I have one question for you: Why would you not?!

I’ll give you the benefit of the doubtwith some awesome Juicing Tips. I’ll assume you aren’t yet juicing because you just don’t know where to begin. It all seems so confusing to you.

Just so you don’t have any excuses not to try juicing, here are 5 simple tips to help you get started.

1. Start With a Juicer (Obviously!)

Before you can start on a juice diet, you need a juicer. Or an extractor, as they’re known in some countries.

Juicers are different from blenders and smoothie makers. First, they’re more effective. They can puree more fruits and vegetables in a shorter space of time. Second, they preserve many of the vitamins and minerals found in your fresh produce. That’s essential!

A good juicer can be picked up for $100 (120 Euros). You’ll find one in your local electrical store, or on Amazon.

2. Decide What to Juice

If you’ve never juiced before, you’ll find the taste of fresh vegetable juice a little weird. You’ll be tempted to use only fruits next time. Don’t do this! Fruits are high in sugar and don’t contain the complete spectrum of vitamins and minerals that you need to be healthy.

When making juice, try to stick to the 80/20 rule. Make sure 80% of your juice is made up of organic vegetables. The rest of it can be made up of your favorite fruits.

If you’re unsure of what vegetables to juice, start simple. Use cucumber, carrots, and beets. You can even add mint into your juices to give them a different flavor.

3. Know When to Drink Your Juice

For the best possible results, drink your juice immediately after you’ve made it. Not only will the consistency be better straight after extracting, it’ll be better for you, too. Nutrient content is highest after juicing. The longer you wait to drink your juice, the less effective it is.

When it comes to actual time, try to consume juice first thing in the morning. The vitamins and minerals inside your drink will be better absorbed.

4. Know How to Drink Your Juice

You’ve been drinking since you were a little kid. I’m sure you find it hard to imagine that you could drink a glass of juice incorrectly.

Well, actually, you can! Gulping juice too fast can upset your stomach. As you’re not physically chewing anything, your digestive enzymes won’t be prepped for action. So just sip your juice and enjoy the flavor.
What are You Waiting For?

As you can see, getting started on a juice diet is straight forward. If you already have a juicer, it’s even something you can start today!

Now you know the basics of juicing, it’s time to start looking for juice recipes that take your fancy. With so many currently out there in books and on the internet, you’ll have no trouble finding something delicious.

5 Awesome Juicing Tips – Take Up Juicing to a higher level

There are so many different diets out on the internet these days. Each ones claims to be the miracle cure to health problems and obesity. With a little slick marketing, these diets can convince you that you should hand over your heard earned cash for the latest book or supplement.

We believe you don’t need to go to such lengths to be healthy. We feel you can achieve everything you need with juice,. So, here are 5 awesome reasons to forget about all the other diets and take up juicing instead.

1. You Stand to Lose Weight

On a calorie-controlled juice diet, chances are very good that you’re going to lose weight.

As juices are high in fibre, not only will you be consuming fewer calories, you’ll also be burning off more during the day. You’ll also have less desire to snack.

When starting juice diets, people report to losing up to 14 pounds in 2 months. All of this is done healthily, too, without the use of starvation, dangerous supplements or yo-yo diets.

2. You Stand to Become Healthier

Sadly, most people these days don’t consume enough fruit and veg. This raises the risk of bowel cancer, heart disease, and diabetes. It also raises the risk of lesser conditions such as anaemia and malnutrition.

When juicing, you’ll be putting an abundance of nature’s finest products into your body daily. As a result, it’ll reward you with better all-round health!

3. Your Mood Will Improve

Many people these days suffer from mood disorders. Anxiety, depression, OCD and other such conditions plague many people’s lives.

As many of the hormones needed to be healthy are made by the body using the materials found in good food, by juicing, you’ll be giving your body more building blocks to make you feel mentally happier.

By cutting out processed foods, excess sugar and additives, you also stand to feel much better mentally. The body wasn’t designed to consume chemicals created in a science lab.

4. Your Immune System Will Become Stronger

If you’re always getting sick, juicing may be just what you need to do to help build your body up.

By drinking juices rich in vitamin C, iron, and zinc, you’ll make your body healthier and stronger so that it can fight off invading forces.

You’ll also improve your digestive health, which will have a profound result on your overall health in general.

5. You’ll Look Better

While most people start juicing for health reasons, it’s important to remember that juicing can have an impact on you aesthetically, too.

By consuming more water and more anti-oxidants, your skin will improve, you’ll look younger, and you’ll develop a natural glow. Sounds good, wouldn’t you agree?

You hair and nails will also thank you for juicing. They’ll both respond positively to the fact that you’re consuming all of the vitamins and minerals that are needed to keep them looking their absolute best.

How to Do a 3 Day Juice Cleanse

If you want to see the benefits of juicing without having to wait months to do so, you may want to try a 3-day juice cleanse.

A cleanse will allow your body to detoxify and feast on the natural goodness found in juice.

The art of a good juice cleanse is in the preparation. That’s why we want to share with you the steps you need to take if you want to do one.

Preparation

Three days before beginning your juice cleanse, you’ll want to begin preparing. A good preparation period can speed up the detoxification process and reduce any food cravings you may suffer while juicing.

Cut out items such as gluten, alcohol, dairy, sugar, and even meat. You’ll also want to have a higher amount of fruit and vegetables added in your diet.

The Cleanse Itself

After three days of preparing for your cleanse, you’re ready to begin.

You’ll want to drink up to 100 ounces of juice per day, depending on your size. Of this 100 ounces, around half of it should be green juice, made from vegetables such as chard, kale, cabbage, lettuce, and cucumber.

Green vegetables contain power natural chemicals that are good for the stomach. Chlorophyll, for example, will help the digestive tract clean and renew itself, something that’s vital if you want good health.

You can choose to drink your juice first thing in the morning, or you can opt for warm lemon water instead. Lemon water is highly detoxifying, and is great for the kidneys and liver, as well as for clearing toxic compounds out of the blood stream.

In between your juices, you’ll want to continue drinking warm water to encourage detoxification to happen. While not drinking water, drink juices make from organic carrots, beets, pears, and apples.

Ending Your Fast

Hopefully, after three days of juicing, you’ll be ready to break your fast. You should feel noticeably better by this stage, as many of the toxins that were making you sick will have left your body.

You may be tempted to end your fast by cooking a big meal. You’re advised to avoid such a temptation. Instead, eat a salad full of raw vegetables. Begin to increase the number of foods you’re eating by adding nuts and seeds into your diet.

Eat similarly to how you ate during the preparation stage. It’s advisable you quit eating gluten and meat for several days after your cleanse.
What Next?

If you feel good after doing a three-day juice cleanse, you can carry on drinking juices every now and again to promote good health. Simply choose a recipe you think serves your needs best at that particular moment in time.

If you don’t feel great yet, you may need to extend the length of time you juice for. It’s possible to juice for weeks or months, depending on the patient and their needs.

Don’t be too disheartened if things didn’t work out as planned. It’s just a sign from your body saying it hasn’t yet had enough time to heal and would like a little longer.

Home made Juices Vs. Store-Bought Juices

Juicing has become so popular that even businesses around the world are trying to get in on the act. As a response to the juicing trend, it’s now commonplace to see bottles of preprepared juice in supermarkets and stores.

These drinks may seem convenient to those on juice diets who are frequently rushed for time. Picking up a bottle of this ready-made juice would save them energy and allow them to continue on with their diet.

Unfortunately, these prepared juices are far less effective than home made juices. Here’s why…

Pre-Made Juices Contain High Levels of Sugar

Pre-made juices are commercial products. That means that the businesses selling them need to make them enjoyable. Sadly, green juices aren’t that inspiring. To counter this, businesses put extra fruit juice in them to make them taste more pleasant.

While this isn’t bad if its consumed occasionally, these higher sugar levels aren’t good for you. It’s far more preferable if you make your juices at home; that way you know exactly what has gone in them.

If buying store-bought juice, check the sugar levels on the product’s label. The lower they are, the better!

Store Bought Juice Often Contains Preservatives

To keep the fruit and veg inside the juice fresh, businesses often put preservatives inside these juices. This helps to keep the product fresh for longer.

Fruits and vegetables were meant to be grown, picked and consumed locally. So the idea that juices have to be shipped across the country is something of an unnatural one.

While preservatives aren’t as harmful as some other chemicals, such as additives and pesticides, they’re still something you want to avoid whenever possible.

Home made juice gives you ability to shun preservatives for good. By juicing your own produce and drinking it straight away, you negate the needs for unnatural substances.

Store Bought Juice is Rarely Organic

As well as preservatives, some store-bought juices contain ingredients that aren’t organic.

Again, this isn’t the end of the world, but inorganic produce isn’t something you want to consume unless you can help it.

Why do businesses use this type of produce? Mainly because it’s cheap. If a bottle of preprepared juice costs too much, consumers aren’t going to buy it.

Make the Right Choice – Juice at Home!

There are many reasons to make your own juice at home. The three Juicing Tips above are our favorite three.

The truth is, you often need to sacrifice in life if you want to gain its rewards, so taking the time and effort to prepare your own liquid meals and snacks at home is a necessary inconvenience.

If you’re rushed for time, learning to manage it better will help you fit in the precious minutes needed to blitz up some produce to make juice.

The goal is to be a healthier person overall, and time management is something that you need to learn if you want to achieve your goal.
