Energy Juice Recipe: Buh-bye Coffee Juice!

Ingredients:

  • 1 medium-sized Apple – Apples are rich in flavonoids, antioxidants, and dietary fiber. Both the antioxidants and phytonutrients help reduce the risk of developing various cancers.
  • 4 medium carrots – Carrots are high in beta carotene and fiber. If you choose to include the roots, it is an excellent choice because the root is rich in antioxidant agents.
  • 8 oz. Green Tea – Green tea is loaded with nutrients and antioxidants that have powerful and positive effects on your body. It helps improve brain function, fat loss, and also lowers your risk of developing cancer.
  • 1 tsp Honey – Honey is a healthy alternative to sugar. Serves as a sweetener.
  • ¼ of a Lemon – Lemons are healthy to add to your juices because of their high vitamin content. They contain vitamins A, B6, C, and E. They also have folate, riboflavin, niacin thiamin, pantothenic acid, copper, iron, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, protein, potassium, and zinc.
  • 1 peeled Orange – Oranges are a great source of vitamins, A, B, B1, and C. They are also rich in dietary fiber as well as pantothenic acid, folate, copper, and potassium.

Directions:

  1.      Just like you would any other cup of tea, make a cup of green tea prior to adding the other ingredients to your juicer.
  2.      Add honey to your green tea
  3.      Process all of the other ingredients in your juicer.
  4.      Slowly pour the tea into your juicer, blend, and serve.

Combining the green tea with the rest of the juice ingredients is much healthier than drinking coffee. Use this energy juice recipe to replace your cups of coffee. If you don’t like the combination of the green tea with the other ingredients, you can always drink a cup of green tea alone while you chill the juice in your refrigerator. Then sip the rest of the recipe throughout the morning. Happy juicing!
